Playoff Roundup: Berlin field hockey advances to 3rd straight D3 semifinal

Harmony Horne scored twice and the top-seeded Berlin High School field hockey team beat No. 8 Kearsarge 2-1 on Saturday in the Division III quarterfinals.

Emily Smith had two assists while Rose Kelley and Olivia Richard also had an assist apiece for the Mountaineers (14-1-1), who return to the final four for the third year in a row.

Berlin will face No. 4 St. Thomas, which defeated No. 5 Mascoma Valley, 3-2, in overtime, in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

No. 3 Mascenic 1, No. 6 Stevens o (2OT)

Kiahna Farrey scored in double overtime to get the Vikings past the Cardinals and into the semifinals for the first time in three years.

Evelynn Shippee recorded four saves to earn the shutout for Mascenic (12-3), which will play No. 2 Hopkinton at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

Autumn Meier scored in overtime as the Hawks knocked out the three-time defending-champion Golden Eagles.

Dahlia Perry also scored for Hopkinton (14-1-1), which returns to the semifinals for the first time since winning the D3 title in 2021.

Heidi Archambault finished with six saves while Emma Pelletier, Sadie Pelletier, Mary Maughn, Ryan Barrett, Lauren Vetter and Meier played well in overtime.
