Playoff Roundup: Winnacunnet field hockey returns to D1 semifinals
Here are results from Friday’s Division I field hockey playoff action.
Sofia Donatelli scored late in the third quarter and the Winnacunnet High School field hockey team made it hold up, getting a 1-0 win Friday over Pinkerton Academy in the Division I quarterfinals.
Amber Morgado recorded her ninth shutout of the season for the fourth-seeded Warriors (13-2-2) while Reese Gandt and Julie Allen played well defensively.
Molly Kuncik had nine saves for the No. 5 Astros (13-5) while Ayvree Hamilton and Lyla Norian played well defensively and Brynn McKenna had a strong game at midfield.
The Warriors move on to the semifinals for the first time since 2022, where they will face top-seeded and defending-champion Keene at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

Avery Callahan scored the game’s only goal early in the fourth quarter and the Lancers held on to beat the Crimson Tide.
Gemma Murray had an assist on the goal for Londonderry (14-3) while Molly Tharrington recorded three saves.
Londonderry moves on to the semifinals for the first time since 2017, where the Lancers will face No. 2 Bedford at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter.

The Blackbirds scored twice in the first half and held on to beat the Blue Hawks and return to the semifinals for the second year in a row.
Dani Caron had the goal for Exeter (10-8), which had advanced to the final four in each of the previous four seasons. Amalia Gloss finished with 23 saves for the Blue Hawks.
