HOLLIS – The Portsmouth High School girls basketball team needed someone to step up and make a big play.

The Clippers had led most of Tuesday’s game against Hollis Brookline by double digits, but a third-quarter run had the Cavaliers back within four points and the Portsmouth offense was sputtering.

But after a timeout, the Clippers got two 3-pointers, one each from Brittany Graham and Olivia Couture, in the final minute of the third to go up by 10 points. Portsmouth was able to withstand another big HB run and came away with a 67-50 win over the Cavs in Division II action.
