The Portsmouth High School girls lacrosse team enters the postseason this week undefeated and once again the unanimous top team in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

The Clippers will be the top seed in the Division I playoffs and will host either Dover or Windham in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Pinkerton and Souhegan remained at Nos. 2 and 3 behind Portsmouth, and both teams will be those respective seeds in the D1 tournament. The Astros will host Bedford in the quarterfinals on Thursday, while the Sabers will do the same against Bishop Guertin.

Exeter was at No. 4 again this week and will host Nashua South, which moved up two spots to No. 5, in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Winnacunnet, the top seed in D2, remained at No. 6 and the Warriors will host either Kingswood or Kennett in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Bishop Guertin fell to spots to No. 7 heading into its quarterfinal at Souhegan while Bedford remained at No. 8 going into its quarterfinal at Pinkerton.

Merrimack remained at No. 9 and will be the two seed in the D2 playoffs, hosting Hollis Brookline on Thursday. Londonderry, which did not qualify for the D1 postseason, remained at No. 10.

Here is this week’s MerchSquared.com/NHHSS Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with this year’s records, first-place votes/points, and last week’s ranking (T=tie).

Also receiving votes: Merrimack Valley (10-4), 6; St. Thomas (14-1), 4; Dover (7-9), 2; Gilford (12-2), 1; Windham (6-9), 1.

The coaches poll is voted on by coaches from all three divisions, as well as members of the media. This will be the last poll until the final one on June 12.
