Salem field hockey holds off Nashua North to open with a win (video)

NASHUA – There were a few different things happening Monday for the Salem High School field hockey team.

First game of a new season and the Blue Devils were playing on turf for just the second time this year, and at various points in the game against Nashua North, players were being shuffled around the lineup.

But the biggest difference for Salem was on the sideline. With longtime coach John Gatsas retired, Mikayla Ramsdell was coaching her first game for the Blue Devils, and they made sure it was a memorable one.
