Blue Devils coach Steve Abraham bet on that side of the ball to start Friday night’s game and it paid off.
Salem forced a three-and-out by Londonderry, and two plays later, Tommy Ahlers rushed 75 yards for the first of his three touchdowns, setting the tone for the Blue Devils as they handed the Lancers their first loss of the season, 35-21, in a Division I South Conference game.
