Three teams made a nice jump in this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll, starting with the Salem High School football team.

The Blue Devils, who were sixth in the first two polls of the season, moved up to No. 3 this week following their 2-0 start to the season. Bedford remained at No. 1 for the third poll in a row, with the Bulldogs getting 11 first-place votes, one more than last week.

Pinkerton remained just behind Bedford at No. 2, receiving the other five first-place votes, and with Astros going to Salem this Friday, it means for the second week in a row, there will be a meeting between teams in the top 3.

Nashua South, with lost to Bedford last Friday, dropped one spot to No. 4 and Bishop Guertin, which knocked off Merrimack, moved up two spots to round out the top five. Exeter fell one spot to No. 6.

Concord, coming off a win over Londonderry, moved into the top 10 for the first time, coming in at No. 7 while the Lancers fell four spots to No. 8.

Souhegan and Manchester Memorial both moved down a spot, to Nos. 9 and 10, respectively, while Portsmouth-Oyster River dropped out of the top 10.
