Despite being down its No. 1 player, the Souhegan High School boys tennis team cruised to a victory over Monadnock, 8-1, on Monday.
Nishon Radhakrishnan moved up to the top singles match and defeated Monadnock’s Harrison Dufree, 8-0. Nick Poulack won the No. 2 match, beating CJ Bower, 8-2, while Nate Redington pulled out an 8-6 win over Josh Rudolf in the No. 3 match.
Poulack and Redington also combined for an 8-3 win in the No. 2 doubles match, beating Rudolf and Ryan Nass.
Nass also lost the No. 4 singles match to Souhegan’s Liam Murphy, 8-1. Matt Protzmann knocked off Kellom Royce, 8-0, at No. 5, and Alex Paquin defeated Trevor Goguen, 8-2, at No. 6.
Murphy and Protzmann also won the No. 3 doubles match 8-1. Radhakrishnan and Alex Kenney suffered to lone defeat for the Sabers, losing the No. 1 doubles match 8-5 to Dufree and Bower.
The Sabers will host Kingswood on Wednesday at Jasper Valley.
