Snap Shot: Goffstown football’s Duval capable of anything
Andrew Duval spent his sophomore year of varsity football playing both ways for a Division I championship team.
As a junior, a broken thumb forced him to miss half a season, but he still found a way to make an impact, despite playing a couple of games with a cast on his right hand.
What’s in store for Duval as he gets ready for his senior year playing for the Goffstown High School football team?
“I think the sky is the limit,” Goffstown coach Justin Hufft said. “He’s so gifted and he plays the ball in the air so well. He’s able to focus and catch the ball so well, and he combines that with his intelligence for the game.
“He’s tough and likes to block on offense, and he likes to hit on defense. He can carry the ball and he can throw the ball. He likes to do everything and I believe you could put him anywhere.”
When practice begins Aug. 9, the Grizzlies will have Duval lined up at his familiar receiver and safety positions. But if a need comes up somewhere else, who knows.
“Whatever helps the team, I’ll do it,” Duval said. “I’ve been working on my routes and getting as fast I can. We have to figure out the offense as a team.”
