Souhegan boys drop two

The Souhegan High School boys tennis team dropped two matches, falling to Goffstown on Friday and Hanover on Saturday.

The losses drop the Sabers to 5-5 in Division II.

Against Goffstown, Ben Bacher had the lone singles win for Souhegan, beating Cam Myett 8-2 in the No. 6 match. The Sabers also won the No. 2 doubles match, as Liam Murphy and Matt Protzmann defeated Andres Bouroncle and Tyler Sharby 8-2.

Goffstown’s Nate Taschereau won the No. 1 singles match, beating Nick Poulack 8-3, while Bouroncle defeated Murphy 8-3 in the No. 2 match. Ryan Lange picked up an 8-4 win over Portzmann in the No. 3 match and Pat Bruzga knocked off Nate Redington 8-3 in the No. 4 match. Sharby defeated David Monleon 8-3 to win the No. 5 match.

Taschereau and Lange won the No. 1 doubles match by beating Poulack and Redington 8-4, and Bruzga and Arnold won the No. 3 match over Bacher and Emmond 8-6.

On Saturday, the Sabers fell to Hanover 9-0. Poulack fell in the No. 1 singles match, 8-4, against Nick Ballon, while Coale Ives defeated Murphy 8-0 at No. 2.

Brendon Barth won the No. 3 match over Protzmann, 8-2, and Tornike Shibitidze got an 8-2 win over Redington in the No. 4 match. Andrew Pillsbury took the No. 5 match 8-0 over Monleon and Luke Candido won at No. 6, 8-5 over Bacher.

Ballon and Ives won the No. 1 doubles match, 8-1 over Poulack and Redington, and Barth and Pillsbury defeated Murphy and Protzmann 8-2 at No. 2. Shibitidze and Liu knocked off Bacher and Emmond 8-3 at No. 3.
