The award is given each year to two seniors from each state for their hard work, dedication and exceptional records in athletics, academics and community leadership. A group of 12 national finalists are then selected from the state winners, with two national award winners selected in December. Neither Kent nor Pitsas were named national finalists.

Kent helped the Souhegan boys cross country team win the program’s first title this fall, as the Sabers won Division II and also finished first at the Meet of Champions. Kent was also a part of the indoor and outdoor track teams that won Division II titles last year, and is also a member of the Souhegan boys basketball team.

Pitsas was a captain for the Milford girls soccer team and helped the Spartans win the Division II title this fall. She is also a member of the girls basketball team and runs indoor and outdoor track at Milford.
