NASHUA – This fall sports season has been short for everyone, and Wednesday, the Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team wasn’t ready for it to come to an end.
After trailing for most of the first half, the Cardinals flipped a switch after halftime, scoring four unanswered goals to beat Merrimack 4-1 in the Division I preliminary round.
Stephanie Coulombe scored three goals for Bishop Guertin (4-3), including the game-tying goal just 2:51 into the third quarter, and senior Brooke Yabroudy scored what proved to be the game winner on a redirection of a shot by freshman Taylor Guibord with 9:23 to go on the third.
