EXETER – Olivia Matthews knew on the bus ride to Bill Ball Stadium that the Bedford High School girls lacrosse team was ready to go.
The energy was high and the Bulldogs where feeling confident Tuesday when they arrived at Exeter for the Division I championship game. When Bedford finally got on the field, it showed everyone just how ready it was.
The top-seeded Bulldogs fell behind a goal early, but responded right away with a 5-0 run, getting goals from five players, and creating a lead they’d never give up as Bedford captured its first D1 title with a 14-10 win over No. 2 Portsmouth.
