Taking the next step in high school sports coverage

The crisp chill of a fall night during football season.

The throbbing atmosphere of a packed gym during basketball season.

The sound of a bat hitting a ball, or a ball finding nothing but the net, and the anticipation of both.

The smell of a locker room during August double sessions. OK, so maybe that last one isn’t one of them, but there are many reasons I do this, and have been doing this for almost a decade now in different ways.

Sports are a big part of my life, and if you’re here, I’m willing to bet they are a big part of yours, too. But my passion for them isn’t limited to the field. It’s here, too, where I want to bring you not just the final score, but how and why it happened, and the stories behind the players and coaches who are doing it.

In January, it was six years since my good friend, Len Costa, helped me get this thing started, and last summer, he worked tirelessly to help me take it to the next stage.

A lot has changed in those six years. You tell me that all the time when I’m out at games, whether it’s a complaint about dwindling coverage, or just a general comment on the state of high school sports.

There are obviously things that can be done in this medium that can’t in others, and I feel there’s a lot of untapped potential here.
