With two full weeks left in the regular season, a couple of girls lacrosse teams got moved around in this week’s MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
What didn’t change was the two teams at the top. Portsmouth held on to the No. 1 spot, getting all nine first-place votes, while Pinkerton was at No. 2 for the third week in a row.
The Clippers go on the road to Bedford on Monday and then Salem on Wednesday before hosting Andover (Mass.) on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Astros go to Concord on Monday and then host Bedford on Wednesday.
Exeter moved up a spot for the second week in a row, as the Blue Hawks climbed to No. 3 in the poll. They’ll go to Manchester Central-West on Monday and then to Nashua South on Tuesday. Bishop Guertin also moved up one spot, from fifth to fourth, as the Cardinals will play at Souhegan on Wednesday and at Dover on Friday before returning home to host Newburyport (Mass.) on Saturday.
Winnacunnet dropped to No. 5 this week, despite extending its win streak to nine games. The Warriors go to Hollis Brookline on Monday before hosting Kingswood on Wednesday and going to Londonderry on Friday.
Souhegan remained at No. 6 this week and Bedford held on to No. 7. The Sabers go to Windham on Monday, host Bishop Guertin on Wednesday, and then go to Concord on Friday. The Bulldogs will host Portsmouth on Monday and then travel to Pinkerton on Wednesday.
Nashua South and Merrimack traded spots in the poll, with the Panthers moving up to No. 8. They’ll play at Londonderry on Monday and then host Exeter Tuesday. The Tomahawks are off until Friday, when they host Spaulding.
For the third week in a row, St. Thomas came in at No. 10, as the Saints host Concord Christian on Monday, then go to Lebanon on Tuesday and return home to play Milford on Friday.

The coaches poll is voted on by coaches from all three divisions, as well as members of the media. Due to the holiday, next week’s poll will be released on Tuesday, May 27.
