It’s a new week, but the top half of the NHHSSports Football Coaches Poll looks a lot like the previous one.
Bedford remained in the top spot, once again getting 12 first-place votes, after its win over Bishop Guertin last Saturday. Londonderry, which knocked off Concord, received the other two first-place selections.
The Bulldogs will play their first home game on Friday when they host Goffstown, while the Lancers prepare for Mack Plaque weekend with a Saturday afternoon game against Pinkerton, which took the No. 3 spot in the poll following a win against Windham.
Exeter defeated Portsmouth-Oyster River and held on to No. 4 heading into its rivalry game at Winnacunnet on Friday. The Warriors, who beat Manchester Central last Friday, also moved into the poll for the first time, coming in at No. 10.
Alvirne rounds out the top five for the second week in a row after dispatching Timberlane; the Broncos will travel to Windham for a Friday night kickoff.
Nashua South moved up a spot to No. 6 after getting an out-of-state win against Lowell. The Panthers will take on Nashua North on Friday in the Battle of the Bridge. Plymouth traded spots with South, coming in at No. 7 despite getting a big win over Trinity. The Bobcats travel to Kingswood on Friday.
Salem and Pelham each moved up a spot, to Nos. 8 and 9, respectively. The Blue Devils clobbered Dover to get their first win of the year and they’ll take on Central on Saturday in Haverhill, Mass. The Pythons took care of Hanover last week and will host Hollis Brookline on Friday.
