It was a busy spring, as I saw all or parts of 76 games this season, including 17 playoff games, between both boys and girls lacrosse. There were plenty of good ones, but this list compiles the five best boys lacrosse games that I saw in person in 2026.

No. 5: Nashua North 14, Salem 13 (May 19)
The Blue Devils and the Titans had tough season in 2026, but when they met for this game at Stellos Stadium, they made it memorable. North had multiple three-goal leads in the first half only see Salem come back in the third quarter. It was 10-10 going into the fourth when the Blue Devils went on a 3-0 run in less than three minutes. The Titans responded with a run of their own to tie the game with 6:55 to play, but neither could score the rest of the way. North finally got the win 1:32 into overtime.
No. 4: Portsmouth 7, Derryfield 6 (April 22)
Another classic chapter to what has been one of the best rivalries in the state the last decade, Portsmouth scored with 68 seconds remaining to get the win over Derryfield. The teams have now played 20 times since 2015, with the Cougars holding a 11-9 edge, including a 10-7 win in the semifinals this spring.
No. 3: Nashua South 10, Windham 9 (June 4)
The kind of comeback that makes you question what you are seeing. After losing to Windham by 11 goals just eight days before, South trailed the Jaguars again, 6-2, late in the third quarter of a first-round playoff game. The Panthers scored three goals in the final two minutes to cut the lead one and then tied it 53 seconds into the fourth. Windham went back in front, but another 3-0 run, this time in 14 seconds, gave South the lead. The Panthers went up 10-7 with just under four minutes to go, but the Jaguars weren’t done, getting within one goal with a chance to tie before time ran out.
No. 2: Pinkerton 9, Bishop Guertin 8 (May 11)
If you wanted to put this game at the top, I wouldn’t argue with you, and until the last day of the season, I probably would have had it there, too. Not only did Pinkerton’s win end Bishop Guertin’s 86-game in-state winning streak, which dated back to the final in 2019, but the game came down to the final play.
No. 1: Pinkerton 17, Bedford 16 (June 13)
Definitely in the top 10 best games I’ve ever covered, and maybe closer to the top five. The teams played a pretty good regular-season game, too, which Bedford won 14-11 on May 21. In this one, Pinkerton led 4-0 before Bedford got back in the game, but although the Bulldogs tied the game a couple of times, they never led through the first three quarters. The Astros were up 13-11 going into the fourth, but Bedford went on a 3-0 run in 37 seconds to take its first lead with 7:07 remaining. Pinkerton tied it at 14, and in the final three minutes, the teams combined for five goals, including two in the final minute by the Astros to go in front. Pinkerton then made a defensive stand in the final seconds to get the title.
