It was a busy spring, as I saw all or parts of over 70 games this season, between both boys and girls lacrosse. There were plenty of good ones, but this list compiles the five best girls lacrosse games that I saw in person in 2024.

No. 5: Bishop Guertin 13, Windham 8 (May 2)
The Jaguars got an early lead, but a run late in the first half by the Cardinals put them in front at halftime and completely changed momentum. Bishop Guertin turned that into a big third quarter and was able to hold off Windham in the fourth to grab the victory.
No. 4: Hanover 11, Goffstown 8 (April 12)
The Bears and the Grizzlies capped the first week of the regular season with a back-and-forth game that saw Hanover able to hang on for the win. The teams traded goals for most of the first half before the Bears took the lead into halftime. Goffstown rallied to go in front in the third, but Hanover answered with a late run to get the victory.
No. 3: Portsmouth 11, Pinkerton 9 (April 8)
The Clippers and Astros played what looked like a potential playoff preview on the first day of the regular season. Pinkerton led at halftime, but a big third quarter from Portsmouth gave it the lead going into the fourth and the Clippers were able to hang on for a big opening-day victory.
No. 2: Hollis Brookline 9, Bow 8 (May 1)
Two years in a row the game these two have played ended up second on the list, with the Cavaliers getting the win this time. HB had to rally twice to take the lead, including a fourth-quarter comeback, and then the Cavs had to withstand a last-second push by the Falcons to hang on for the victory.
No. 1: St. Thomas 13, Gilford 8 (June 6)
The Saints went into the Division III championship game undefeated, having won every game by an average of 14.4 goals. But their closest game of the year was a 12-7 victory over the Golden Eagles, and early on, St. Thomas found itself trailing. It wasn’t until the final minute of the third quarter that the Saints took their first lead and pulled away from Gilford late to secure a perfect season.
