Top Five Girls Lacrosse Games in 2026

It was a busy spring, as I saw all or parts of 76 games this season, including 17 playoff games, between both boys and girls lacrosse.

There were plenty of good ones, but this list compiles the five best girls lacrosse games that I saw in person in 2026.

No. 5: Goffstown 9, Kennett 8 (June 4)

Goffstown and Kennett went back and forth throughout this entire Division II quarterfinal game. The game was tied 2-2 after the first quarter, 5-5 at halftime and 7-7 going into the fourth quarter. Kennett scored with 8:31 remaining to take an 8-7 lead and it took Goffstown almost five minutes to tie it back up. The Grizzlies then scored with 1:13 remaining to take the win and advance.

No. 4: Nashua South 9, Merrimack 8 (April 23)

Nashua South looked like it was in trouble when Merrimack scored a momentum-changing goal to take the lead in the fourth quarter. But the Panthers regrouped and scored twice in about 90 seconds to go back in front and held on over the final four minutes to get the comeback win.

No. 3: Hanover 12, Timberlane 11 (June 6)

Hanover opened the Division II semifinal with a 3-0 run and Timberlane answered with a 4-0 run. The game was tied eight times, including at 3-3 at the end of one quarter and 7-7 at halftime. The Owls led 10-8 at the end of third, but the Bears went on a 3-0 run to take the lead. Timberlane tied it at 11 with 4:55 to play and Hanover went back in front with 2:06 remaining. The Owls had a chance to tie in the final minute, but a defensive stand by the Bears got them the win.

No. 2: Pinkerton 7, Bedford 6 (May 21)

In a low-scoring game, Bedford rallied in the fourth quarter, scoring three goals in 1:23 to tie the game and force overtime. In OT, Pinkerton won the draw and ran a play the Astros had just put in at practice earlier in the week, scoring 30 seconds in to get the win over the Bulldogs.

No. 1: Winnacunnet 12, Hanover 11 (June 9)

There are so many factors that make a game great and this year’s Division II final had a lot of them, starting with an unexpected start. Winnacunnet beat Hanover by 13 goals when the teams met in the regular season, but two weeks later, it was the Bears who led 4-1 after one quarter. The Warriors responded with a 7-0 run and it looked that might be it for Hanover, but the Bears were able to tie the game early in the third quarter. Winnacunnet went back up, 11-8, but Hanover made it a one-goal game in the fourth quarter and had a chance to tie, but a big defensive stand by the Warriors wrapped up the title.
