Top four remain the same this week in NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The top four teams not only remained the same, but received the exact same votes, in this week’s NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll.

The same can not be said for the bottom six, which again has a different team in the No. 5 spot and a new team in at 10th. Only once this year has a team held the fifth spot for two weeks in a row and no team has stayed at No. 10 for more than one week straight.

Bishop Guertin was once again a unanimous choice for No. 1 and Exeter was for No. 2. The Cardinals are scheduled to host Salem at 6 p.m. on Monday and Acton-Boxborough (Mass.) on Tuesday before going to Derry to take on Pinkerton on Thursday. Exeter also goes to Pinkerton this week, as the Blue Hawks face the Astros on Tuesday and host Bedford on Friday.

Portsmouth remained at No. 3 for the second straight week and the Clippers will host a pair of big divisional games, with Derryfield coming in Tuesday and Timberlane on Thursday. Pinkerton held on to the fourth spot with three big games coming up this week. Along with Exeter and Bishop Guertin, the Astros will travel Saturday to face St. John’s (Shrewsbury, Mass.).

Derryfield moved back up to No. 5 for the fourth time this season, and along with the game at Portsmouth, the Cougars will host Kingswood on Friday. Nashua South moved up to No. 6 and the Panthers will look to stop a two-game skid when they host Bedford at 4 p.m. Monday. They’ll follow that up with games at Merrimack (Wednesday) and Concord (Saturday).

Londonderry jumped two spots to No. 7 and the Lancers will host Nashua North at 4 p.m. on Monday and Souhegan on Friday. Timberlane held on to the eighth spot and the Owls will have a busy week, starting with a game at Alvirne at 6:30 p.m. Monday. They follow that up with a home game against Hollis Brookline on Tuesday and the trip to Portsmouth on Thursday.

Winnacunnet dropped four spots after suffering back-to-back losses last week and the Warriors will host Goffstown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday and head to Oyster River-Newmarket on Friday. St. Thomas moved into the No. 10 spot, moving in for the first time this season. The Saints will look to extend their six-game winning streak against Coe-Brown at 5 p.m. on Monday and on Thursday at Pembroke.
