Two spots left in American Legion state tourney as regular season comes to an end

There are six games still left to be completed Sunday in the American Legion Senior baseball regular season, but only three of those have tournament implications.

In District B, the four tournament teamshave been decided and seeding is set for the start of play on Thursday. In District A, Lebanon and Sweeney have cliched the top two spots, Bedford and Milford currently hold the final two, but with Laconia and Concord still in action, one or both could move into a tie with Bedford and Milford.

Here’s how each district stands.

District A

  1. Lebanon (14-2) – clinched No. 1A seed
  2. Sweeney (14-4) – clinched No. 2A seed
  3. Bedford (11-7)
  4. Milford (11-7)

Others in contention: Laconia (10-7), Concord (9-7). Eliminated: Goffstown (8-10), Plymouth (5-11), Keene (3-14), Jutras (0-18).

District B

  1. Rochester (16-2) – clinched No. 1B seed
  2. Dover (13-4) – clinched No. 2B seed
  3. Hudson (11-6) – clinched No. 3B seed
  4. Derry (10-7) – clinched No. 4B seed

Eliminated: Nashua 8-9, Londonderry 8-10, Portsmouth 8-10, Merrimack 5-12, Exeter 4-14, Salem 4-13.

  • Lebanon at Laconia, 11 a.m.
  • Concord at Keene, 12 p.m.
  • Salem at Dover, 1 p.m.
  • Nashua at Derry, 3 p.m.
  • Concord at Lebanon, 5 p.m. (completion of suspended game)
  • Merrimack at Hudson, 5:15 p.m.
