AMHERST – Brandon Len scored 21 points Tuesday to help the Souhegan High School boys basketball team defeat Milford 61-38.

Len scored nine of the Sabers’ 17 points in the third quarter, when Souhegan turned a four-point lead into 14. Jake Kennedy added 12 points for the Sabers (7-4 in Division II), while Tyler Ford had eight and Zack Simmonds seven.

Milford (3-10) got eight points from Jarad Asselin and seven from Wayne O’Brien. Trailing by nine, the Spartans opened the second half with a 5-0 run to get within 25-21.

But Souhegan responded with back-t0-back 3s by Len and Tanner Kent, starting the Sabers on a 10-0 run.

Both teams return to the floor on Thursday, when Milford heads to Merrimack Valley and Souhegan goes to Oyster River.
