EXETER – The Souhegan High School girls soccer team advanced to the Division II championship game by beating Hanover 3-2 on penalty kicks.

EXETER – The Souhegan High School girls soccer team advanced to the Division II championship game by beating Hanover 3-2 on penalty kicks.

Peyton Kent scored both No. 3 Souhegan goals in regulation, and the senior scored on her penalty kick, along with Alana Barretto and Rachael Facey, who scored the game-winner as the Sabers’ sixth shooter.

No. 7 Hanover got goals in regulation from Sarah Wagner and Susanna Penfield, while Kelly Brigham and Emily Acker scored for the Marauders in the shootout.

Souhegan will now face No. 9 Pembroke Academy, which defeated No. 5 Coe-Brown 1-0 in the other semifinal, at 4 p.m. Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University. It’s the third-straight championship game appearance for Souhegan.
