Windham girls lacrosse bounces back with win over Portsmouth

WINDHAM – Ali Connors scored five goals and assisted on another to help the Windham High School girls lacrosse team bounce back Thursday from its first loss of the season with a 14-9 win over Portsmouth.

Courtney Sweeney added two goals and two assists and Lexi Lewis also scored three times as the Jaguars (12-1) rebounded from a 14-13 overtime loss to Hanover on Wednesday.

Samantha Crichton also had two goals for Windham and Abigail Lagos had a goal and two assists. Hope Curtis also scored and Emma Lindquist had three assists. Julia Peet made 13 saves.

Portsmouth (11-4) got three goals from Casey McDevitt while Lizzy Rice had two goals and an assist. Julie McNabb, Erica Hesser, Gracie Getman and Lily Madden also had a goal apiece.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Clippers during which they’d averaged 18.2 goals per game.
