After not having a game for almost two weeks, the Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse team returned to action with quite a week.
The Warriors won all three of their games, including a big comeback win over Bishop Guertin, stretching their win streak to six games. That helped Winnacunnet make a big jump in the this week’s MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll, as the Warriors moved up three spots to No. 3.
Portsmouth was again the consensus choice for No. 1, getting all 11 first-place votes to remain in the top spot, while Pinkerton came in at No. 2 for the second week in a row. The Clippers will host Concord on Monday before games at Windham on Tuesday and at Bishop Guertin on Thursday.
The Astros, meanwhile, go to Bishop Guertin on Tuesday and host Windham on Friday. Winnacunnet will host Goffstown on Tuesday before going to Merrimack Valley on Wednesday and then returning home to play Manchester Memorial on Friday.
Exeter held on to the No. 4 spot heading into back-to-back games vs. Londonderry, at home on Monday and on the road on Wednesday, before going to Souhegan on Friday. Bishop Guertin dropped to No. 5 after a pair of losses and will host those two games against Pinkerton and Portsmouth.
Souhegan moved down a spot to No. 6, as the Sabers prepare to host Nashua South on Monday and Exeter on Friday. Bedford jumped two spots to No. 7 and will be on the road at Hanover on Wednesday and at Salem on Friday.
Merrimack remained at No. 8 this week and the Tomahawks will take their unbeaten record into games at home against Kingswoond on Monday and Hanover on Friday, with a road game at Kennett on Wednesday.
Nashua South dropped two spots to No. 9, as the Panthers go to Souhegan on Monday before hosting Windham on Wednesday and Dover on Thursday. St. Thomas came in at No. 10 again this week and the Saints have a big week with a home game against John Stark on Monday and a game at Gilford on Wednesday.
